Using Softaculous scripts While Your Domain is Still Propagating

  • 0

Some scripts automatically incorporate your domain name from your hosting account’s settings. If your domain name’s propagation has not yet been completed, you may experience temporary issues after installing one of these scripts.

While the script will automatically generate page and image links using your domain name, those links will appear broken as the browser will be directed to your active site which is not yet fully active.

If you’re an advanced user and are fairly knowledgeable about the script you’d like to install, you can edit the configuration settings to use the IP address associated with your Nuagerie account. To properly do this, you may need to visit the script’s website to find out what changes need to be made.

If you are not fully confident about making these changes, we suggest waiting until your domain name has been fully propagated.

If you are unsure whether you can use the script before your domain name is ready, try installing it through Softaculous. Once installed, you can attempt to view the site or log in to the script’s administrator area. Given your domain has not yet been propagated, you will need to use your Nuagerie account’s IP address, which can be found in your Login Information email, to preview your site.

In your Login Information email, you will see the following:

http://99.99.99.999/~cpaneluser

Note that 99.99.99.999 will be your actual IP address, and cpaneluser will be your cPanel username.

In order to log in, once the script is installed, you will need to add the login folder to the end of the address:

http://99.99.99.999/~cpaneluser/login

For example, if you were attempting to log in to WordPress, your address would look something like this:

http://99.99.99.999/~cpaneluser/wp-admin
